French Butter Keeper - Ponderosa Glaze
Wheel thrown 2 piece French butter keeper, aka 'butter bell'. This style dates back to the days before refrigeration ---by placing an inch of water in the bottom the butter was isolated from the air and could be kept at room temperature for quite sometime. Today this style of butter keeper keeps the smells of cantalope and the like out of the butter while in the refrigerator. Approximately 4 inches tall and 4 1/2 inches wide.
