Large Bread Bowl - Bright Yellow Glaze
Large stoneware bread making bowl by New Mexico potter R. L. Rising of Las Cruces. Wheel-thrown, 11 3/4 inches in diameter at the rim and 7 inches tall. The sides are nearly vertical to assist the yeast in the process of a double or 2 1/2 rise ( as in French bread). The colour shown here is called Bright Yellow ( also known as ' knock your hat in the creek yellow '). Signed by the artist.
